REPEAL ZIRS!

The Santa Barbara Association of REALTORS® is moving forward with the initiative process to place on the November 2019 ballot an initiative to repeal Zoning Information Reports (ZIR’s).  As you may recall, we have worked with the City of Santa Barbara for the past decade to rectify problems pertaining to ZIR’s which have entailed multiple City Council hearings, Planning Commission hearings, Task Force meetings, meetings with staff, and a Grand Jury Report.  While we have produced solutions to fix some problems, we have not been able to concur on the issues of accountability, reliability, accuracy and affordability.  Given our divergent mindsets on these points and the results of a recent poll of City residents, we have concluded that the residents of the City of Santa Barbara should determine the necessity of this program.
